Here at Crosspointe Baptist Church in Troy, Missouri, we believe in Jesus Christ and the power of the gospel.

Pastor Joe Gatlyn

Bro. Gatlyn confessed Christ as Saviour (got saved) in Aug/Sept of 2012 in the midst of alcoholism. It wasn't until getting into trouble in December of 2016 and January of 2017 that he had a "when he came to himself" moment as stated in Jesus' "Prodigal Son" parable. Facing jail time, Bro. Gatlyn finally surrendered to God and was able to offset his jail time in a Chris-based rehab program in Chico, CA, being biblically baptized in February of 2017. He graduated the program, and then worked on staff at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church under Pastor Tim Ruhl in 2018-2019. He's since attended Golden State Baptist College, West Coast Baptist College, and graduated online through Patriot Bible University with a degree in Pastoral Studies in January of 2024, about 7 years to the day after quitting alcohol! He has served about 4 years in bus/outreach/children's ministries along with being involved with addiction ministries as well. 

 

He and his wonderful wife, Ashlyn, have been married 5 years and have 3 beautiful children: Judah, Elizabeth, and Kezia.​
