Pastor Jim Greenacre
Born in the mountains of Colorado, I was raised in a home that was centered around science and art. My dad had been an archaeologist before WWII and finished his career mapping the moon.  My mom was an artist who also enjoyed writing. I grew up with a great appreciation for people from different cultures as we were often on the Navajo reservations. While we occasionally attended church, the gospel was never preached and by the age of 12 I had grown tired of going and hearing anything  about God!
At the same time Denise, born in St. Louis, was in the mid-west.  The first day Denise’s family went to church, at the age of 9, she placed her faith in Jesus.  Her dad accepted the Lord that evening and from that point on Christ became the focal point of their lives.
In December of 1968 the lunar mapping program was completed and my family moved to St. Louis, Missouri to the same town where Denise was living. I started attending her high school and it wasn’t long before I  noticed her and that there was something very different about her.  By the spring of 1969 she had invited me to church and in order to be with her I agreed to attend.  I grew up believing that God was dead but  now I was going to a church that actually preached and taught the bible... that was a bit of a shock! But, Sunday after Sunday,I went with her while  the message of the gospel began to get through my thick head and hard heart.  Finally, on June 17, 1971 I realized I was a sinner

who needed the Savior. That night I trusted Christ and His finished work on the cross. Nothing in my life has been the same since that evening!

In August of that same year, we were married and in just a few years were off to prepare for the ministry at Tennessee Temple University in Chattanooga, Tennessee. During a mission conference in 1978 God spoke to me about serving Him as a missionary. By 1981 we were on the field, the Philippines. Denise and I, along with our growing family, had the privilege of serving as missionary church planters in the Philippines. After 12 years, God brought us home to pastor in the states for 26 years.
Now, after 48 years of marriage, 8 children and 25 grandchildren, God has given us a unique opportunity to once again serve in the local church. Jim Greenacre is the pastor here at Crosspointe Baptist Church while his wife Denise Greenacre serves joyfully as the pastor's wife.

On August 20, 2021, Pastor Greenacre was called home to be with the Lord. We grieve deeply at the unexpected loss, and yet we are comforted by Paul's words in 1 Thessalonians 4:13.

"But we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve as do the rest who have no hope."

We grieve with HOPE! Our Pastor loved and served the Lord for 50 years and we rejoice in the knowledge that we will one day see him again in the presence of Jesus! Until that day, we faithfully continue the work that God is doing here at Crosspointe.
